As guarantor for it the own vineyard possession in the best loctions of Ürzig, Erden and Rachtig. They are all planted in steep vineyards with 100% root-genuine vines. The big number of honors show the high qualtity of our vines. The Premium SELECT Wine Challenge was given during ProWein 2010. The 2007er Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese (late harvest) – Alte Reben (old vines) received the silver medail as to our 2006er Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese ***  - Alte Reben (old vines) the gold medail. These two wines rank besides among the best 20% best wines in this competition.

Wine is a piece of quality of life! Every year again we are enthusiastically surprised from our riesling wines full of flavour and minerals. They are growing in the red slate on very steep vineyards. The red slate, you can only find in this region between Wittlich and Ürzig. Imiditely you can taste the various numbers of minerals coming out of the slate, the complex flavour variety and the long lasting fruit flavours.

These wines can be kept for many years, even decades fresh and tasteful.  This ist the result of our slate ful of flavour and the very carefull work in the vineyards, during the vintage and in the cellar. Our vineyard “Ürziger Sonnenuhr” is planted in the rocks (foundation of the old Ürzig – Castle mentioned the first time in 1066) and these are cultivated with Riesling vines more than 70 years old.

17 times a year the grapevine has to be visited for work. It starts during the winter teim with the cut and finishs end of october until middle of november with the vintage.

Each grape ist selected by hand very carefully and in the cellar pressed again very carefully and the fermentation in the cold cellar goes naturally with spontaneous yeast.

We also enjoy very much our wines either with clients, friends or more even ourselfes.

In our wine estate you can buy Riesling from 1972 until the current. Our cellar dates from the year 1511. We invite you to discover with us the experience of Riesling.

The ages monastic yard is in the pictorial local centre, beside the city hall with tourist information. This stately Patrizierhaus was built anno for 1718 of the monks of the former Augustiner abbey Springiersbach, on the foundation walls of a Gewölbekellers from the year 1511.

Center of the 70's took place a change with a special note. Coined/shaped of architecture relating to crafts it offers for 10 double and 3 single room, all this now to place with shower/bath and WC, powerplant. are equipped with balcony and/or Moselblick. Impressing one enjoys a wonderful panorama view from the breakfast area over the romantic Moseltal and its vineyards.
